Why I am being charged VAT on my order?

Our site is registered as a UK company and as such HMRC (the UK tax authorities) require us to charge VAT. 
VAT will be collected if you operate your holiday rental business in an EU Member state (except from UK, where the UK VAT will always apply) AND if you are unable to provide a valid VAT number in this country. 
The country in which you operate your holiday home business is not where the property is located, but rather the country from which the business is administered. This will normally be your country of residence and the place where you pay your taxes.
